CD Duplication Quality
CD Duplication 101:
To get the best results when duplicating a CD project follow these simple rules.
1. Always use top quality blank media – You get what you pay for. Blank CD-R media varies widely. On the cheap end you may get failures and compatibility problems with 1 out of every 5 discs. If you buy cheap, be prepared to have problems. Conversely, if you go with the high end blank CD-R media, you can expect to distribute your product with confidence, compatibility and defect rates are negligible and for most distribution will not be a factor at all.
2. If you use a company to do you CD Duplication, make sure they guarantee turn times, use quality media, and are easily accessible to you. If you cannot get someone on the phone to help you with your project, or don’t feel comfortable with the competence of your customer service person, go on your instincts and find another company. So many companies today have gone on the “Cheap” and reduced their workforce staff to automation, website help and provide only limited accessibility to in house expertise. Again you get what you pay for here.
Bottom line is if you want cheap, be prepared to have lower quality products and less customer service. If you are willing to pay 15% more on your jobs, you will eliminate all of your headaches and have a smooth experience publishing your CD.
